After what I thought was a fairly successful attempt at my first roll of film... I learned the hard way to pay attention in class. I ended up retaking all of my images, which yes means the entire process all over again. Sometimes it just takes twice to get it right. The above is a scanned copy of my negatives (turned to negative using Ps), roughly what it will look like on my contact sheet I'll be making. I really like both the second images in on the bottom row. Hopefully next week I'll have some actual prints to show you and maybe even a contact sheet if I feel like posting it.

More Drawing!
Started doing pen and ink washes again... It's so much fun. I haven't done any ink work since I was probably a senior (and it wasn't really a wash it was more pen work). One of my favorite types of media. I learned a valuable lesson though... Always make sure you paper is on the correct side. Oh, I also learned if you spill ink it makes a mess. Well, have to keep this brief... off to work.

More Design Work!
Another assignment and another assignment complete. Probably one of my favorite assignments yet. I had to pick any historical event and using only one font and no images create a poster. Fortunately, I was required to create an image to be the focus with that font. The part I found probably most interesting about this assignment was the research... However little of it actually shows in the poster. I wanted more of it to show, however my professor said it distracted from the image I created with type. The fact that I didn't even mention the name Martin Luther on the poster is a little disappointing to me. I think I've said enough for now... Hope to post more soon.

Hierarchy
As promised here is more of my current work. The goal of this project was using the given text to pick out the most important ideas and use rules of varying text weight and size to create a composition with good hierarchy. To me a rather simple concept. After all, we all use hierarchy in our everyday life. It's how we determine to wash the clothes before watching t.v. Essentially ranking them by priority. Next, I'll be adding images into the equation.

Further Update!
As mentioned, I plan on blogging more. So, I started makin a few changes. I started by adding a new background.... Which is my own original picture. I also created a poll on the right hand side. There is a time limit for the poll, so make sure you vote by April 9th. And again there will be more postings to come.

Update
I suppose by this point many of you are wondering if I've completely forgotten about my blog. Well fear not, I've started a new semester in school with plenty of exciting new work to share with all of you. I've already created a handful of what I classify as awesome drawings for class. However, due to the nature of many of them, I am holding back on those. A new addition to the blog I maybe be posting an essay or two from class as well.
Ohhh... and I hope you all enjoy the new favicon.
